The Global Energy Alliance for People & Planet (GEAPP) is a collective movement for change, working to unlock green energy access, open up a new era of inclusive economic growth, while enabling the global community to meet critical climate goals within the next decade. One of the missions is through the Indonesian state-owned Electricity Utility Company (PLN)’s program called De-dieselization.

The de-dieselization is the initiation of the Diesel Replacement Program. Indonesia has embarked on a journey toward a more sustainable and energy-efficient future, aiming to convert approximately 5,200 diesel power plants (equivalent to 2.37 GW installed capacity) operating across 2,130 locations in Indonesia into renewable energy-based generators. The program’s objectives include reducing the nation’s dependence on fossil fuels, enhancing the use of renewable energy in the energy mix, and lowering electricity costs while improving reliability. To support PLN in the preparation of a better de-dieselization tender, GEAPP is engaging the consortium ITP Renewable (ITP) – Synkrona Enjinering Nusantara (SEN).
